OKO
Open the live siteThe idea
(01)News about strikes is scattered across Telegram channels as short, repetitive posts. It is hard to see the overall picture: where things happen most often, what gets hit and how activity changes over time.
OKO reads those channels, groups messages about the same event into one incident and finds where exactly it happened. Then it looks from space: one satellite source detects active fires, another provides imagery of the exact site, so the system can compare the area before and after the attack. 11,550 messages become 2,192 incidents in 293 places.
How it works
(02)- 01
Collect
Posts come from three public Telegram channels: Supernova+, Exilenova+ and Вибухи та бавовна.
- 02
Parse
A language model extracts the place, the type of event (drone, missile, explosion, fire, air defense) and the target, such as an oil refinery, a port or an airfield, and merges duplicate reports into one incident.
- 03
Geolocate
An LLM agent searches the web for each incident and narrows a vague report like “a refinery near the city” down to exact coordinates.
- 04
Detect fires
The first satellite integration checks thermal data for active fires at those coordinates around the time of the strike.
- 05
Compare imagery
The second integration pulls satellite images of the exact site and compares the area before and after the attack to confirm the damage.
